Registration Categories
Honourable Fellow
Eligibility:
This category is reserved for individuals who have contributed significantly to counselling and psychotherapy. Honourable Fellows are recognised for their exceptional leadership and professional achievements within the community.
Associate Fellow
Eligibility:
Professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to the counselling field and have considerable experience, but may not meet all the criteria for full fellowship. Associate Fellows are engaged in ongoing professional development and contribute to the association’s goals.
Supervisor
Eligibility:
Registered professionals who provide supervision to other counsellors or practitioners. Supervisors must have completed advanced training in supervision and have substantial experience in the counselling field.
Registered Counsellor
Eligibility:
Professionals who have completed an accredited counselling qualification and meet the required standards for registration. Registered Counsellors must adhere to the association’s code of ethics and participate in ongoing professional development.
Registered Psychologist
Eligibility:
Individuals with a recognised qualification in psychology and are registered with the relevant regulatory body. Registered Psychologists must maintain their professional standing through continuous professional development and ethical practice.
Pre-Registered Counsellor
Eligibility:
Individuals who have completed their counselling qualifications are in the process of fulfilling the requirements for full registration. Pre-registered counsellors may practice under supervision while completing necessary post-qualification experience.
Pre-Registered Psychologist
Eligibility:
Individuals who have completed an accredited psychology qualification and are in the process of meeting the registration requirements. Pre-registered psychologists may work under supervision as they gain the necessary experience.
Student
Eligibility:
Students currently enrolled in an accredited counselling or psychology program. Student members are non-practising and can apply for registration upon completing their studies.
International
Eligibility:
Individuals residing outside of the country who have completed an accredited counselling or psychology qualification. International members can apply for non-practising registration to maintain their connection with the association.
Academics
Eligibility:
Lecturers, researchers, or educators in counselling or psychology who do not actively practice as counsellors. This category is for those training future professionals and contributing to academic discourse.
General Member
Eligibility:
General membership for practitioners, academics, and students involved in counselling and psychotherapy. Members benefit from resources, professional development opportunities, and a supportive community.
